This tour consists of a visit to two XVII century hacienda's located in Merida. The fist stop is "Hacienda Vista Alegre" which has the most important and presitgious production of traditional Rum and liquors made from tropical fruits. It is a 45 minute visit to the oak wood barrels deposits then to the pottery house where the bottles for the finest liquors are hand made. Then your off to the factory which is still inhabited by the owners, receive a detailed explanation for the process of making the Rum and liquors by a local host and taste the different products after the demonstration. The tour proceeds to another ol colonial palace called "Hacienda Teya". This award winning hacienda offers the best typical gastronomy of the Uucatan and has received visits of figures like Queen Sophie from Spain and Greece, Hilary Clinton, the Luxembourg Dukes and more.
