Getting Here
Taxi, Limo, and Shuttle Services
You are probably wondering, "What is the best way from the airport to our hotel?" The Hacienda has a remote and tranquil location in Uayamon and is not reachable by public transport from the Merida airport. Taxi drivers may not be familiar with the location so we recommend renting a car and driving or using a transfer service. Driving is relatively easy and un-crowded in the Yucatan, so renting a car is a good option for exploring the many things to see and do, including the archeological ruins around the Hacienda. Hotel-arranged transfers can be expensive. A more cost effective airport taxi or shuttle service can be pre-arranged with your Blissport Concierge. Blissport uses Orbitur. Transfer cost is about $102 directly from the airport to the Hacienda.

Rental Cars
If you want to rent a car, you can easily do so at the airport, but it is best to reserve from the US for better rates. Most major rental car agencies have presence at the airport. You can book your rental car in advance with Alamo online or by phone through your Blissport Concierge when you book your hotel. We have also had excellent luck renting from Avis in Mexico. Finally, in many cases you can rent a car locally through your hotel.
Renting a car in Mexico tips: 1 - When you reserve a car, be sure to ask about cancellation penalties, taxes and surcharges; 2 - Your own driver's license is acceptable; you do not need to get an international license; 3 - Take the extra insurance despite the extra cost and no matter what your insurance company or credit card company may say that they cover in Mexico. Regardless of any coverage that your credit card company may offer, make sure you have Mexican auto liability insurance through the rental car company. It is illegal to drive without it in Mexico.
