People Watching in El Jardin
El Jardin (The Garden) has been the center of San Miguel de Allende since 1737 and is the place in San Miguel where all the action takes place. One of the best ways to get a feel for San Miguel is to take a seat on one of the wrought iron benches and check out the activity. If you would like something to eat or drink, cafes around El Jardin offer outdoor seating. La Terraza has a large terrace great for people-watching. In the morning El Jardin is where locals and expats read the paper and enjoy the morning sunshine. For a romantic evening in the square, you can enjoy musicians, dance presentations, or even fireworks.
The Jardin is easy to find and within walking distance of most hotels in San Miguel.
