Destinations: Mexico: Yucatan: Hotel Esencia: Tulum Mayan Ruins
Tulum Mayan Ruins
The Tulum Mayan ruins are spectacularly positioned on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean sea. The Yucatan's most visited Mayan ruin was in its height from the 1200's until the arrival of the Spanish and is one of the few Mayan cities that was inhabited when the Spanish arrived. It was used for trading hub for trading with other cities throughout the Mayan World.
Because this is such a popular tourist attraction, go early in the morning (open at 8:00 AM) or better yet, if you can time your visit towards the end of the day (around 4:00 PM), you will have a better chance of having fewer tourists.
