Awards
In July 2007, the Ritz-Carlton closed for a $130 million renovation. Reopened in January 2008, the hotel infused its previous you-know-you're-in-a-Ritz-Carlton decor with more of a Hawaiian feel. Other improvements include an expanded spa, a new fitness center complete with a yoga studio and ocean views and a new sushi restaurant. Staying intact: the staff's almost pathologic compulsion to spoil guests silly on their honeymoon. Located on the western side of Maui.
Why You’ll Love It
Along with the Ritz-Carlton's bocce and croquet lawns, you'll also have access to the Kapalua Resort's network of hiking trails. (There's shuttle service to the trailheads.)
Why She’ll Love It
The Cultural Center offers slack-key guitar concerts, "talk story sessions", and hula lessons. Which means she'll finally have an excuse to buy that hula skirt.

Getting Here

Taxi, Limo, and Shuttle Services

You are probably wondering, "What is the best way from the airport to our hotel?" Because there is so much to see and do, we recommend renting a car for at least a portion of your trip. If you won't have your rental car at the start or end of your trip, believe it or not, a limousine can be cheaper than a cab at OGG (cab cost is up to $90 for Lahaina / Kaanapali locations)! And unlike taxis, limo rates are fixed. Sedans are typically Lincoln Towncars - a nice option, especially if you already did the limo thing at your wedding. The cheapest option at Kahului airport is a shuttle van, costing about $40/ person, each way. Some shuttles are on a schedule and leave at designated times. Others leave once the shuttle is full. If this matters to you, check before boarding. You can reserve an airport shuttle van, sedan or limo online at Blissport with one of our hand-picked partners when you book your hotel. Tipping: * Shuttles: if the driver helps with your bags, it's appropriate to give a few bucks. * Sedans/limos: the most appropriate form of tipping is a percentage of the fare, usually around 15%. Taxi costs from the airport to the following locations (metered rate of $3.50 per mile): Kaanapali: $87 Kahului Town: $13 Kapalua: $105 Kihei: $33.00-$45.00 Lahaina: $74 Maalea: $33 Kaanapali: $87 Wailuku: $20
