Built on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples, this 19th century building, surrounded by five acres of gardens and citrus trees, is one of the best spots on Sorrento. The hotel is known for its many terraces, all with views of the bay. From the main terrace, you can take an elevator down to the harbor below to motorboat or visit neighboring Capri or Naples. Or, you can choose to just lay out by the large swimming pool, Bellini in hand. The large guestrooms are decorated with antiques, Vietri ceramic, and marble bathroom, and most have balconies looking out on the water and cliffs below, or the orange orchard.
Why You’ll Love It
The hotel has a number of bars and restaurants, so you won’t have to travel far for good food.  The Vittoria is the main dining room, with vaulted frescoed ceilings, where they serve many regional Campania favorites, as well as more haute cuisine offerings.  In the summer, they open up the Bosquet Terrace where you can enjoy dinner with a view and live music.
Why She’ll Love It
The extensive gardens will be a huge draw for her, with five acres of Mediterranean plants and flowers, citrus and olive trees (the oranges, lemons, and olives are all used in the hotel’s restaurants), and little paths. There are even ancient Roman columns, which were dug up when the hotel was being built.
