Details
Milan is must see honeymoon destination for urbanites and fashionistas. Located in Italy's Lombardy region, Milan is recognized throughout the world as a premier design and fashion capital. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo, Via Montenapoleone, and Via della Spiga are the main spots for designer boutiques and haute couture. Like its Rome and Florence counterparts Milan, has many important museums and monuments including the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie home to Leonardo’s Last Supper and the Brera Museum home to Madonna and Child by Bellini. Even the Galleria is an architectural masterpiece and connects two of Milan's most famous landmarks: The Duomo and the Teatro Alla Scala. For honeymooners seeking nightlife, Milan as a major metropolitan city delivers in pubs and nightclubs.
Piedmont's capital city, Turin holds special appeal for honeymooners with a penchant for automobiles or movies. For sightseeing, the greater Piedmont region's hilly landscapes - populated with feudal castles, sanctuaries, abbeys, country churches and of course claim to some of Italy's finest vineyards including Barolo and Barbaresco - rival Tuscany.
Hop a boat and tour Lake Como during your honeymoon. Be sure to check out the Palatial Villa Erba where parts of Ocean's 12 were filmed. Heck, if it's cool enough for Clooney, Pitt, and Damon, it's pretty cool. The 400-year old city of Lake Como is a great place to scuba dive, fish, play tennis and golf, or just live like an Italian - stroll the water's edge, window shop, or relax with an Italian coffer or latte in a cafe and people watch for hours. All of the towns along the Lake are worth a visit and can be accessed by ferry. Lake Como nightlife isn't wild and crazy but there are some spots where you can dance until 3:00 am on the weekends.
