Getting Here
Taxi, Limo, and Shuttle Services
You are probably wondering, "What is the best way from the airport to our hotel?" There are a lot of things to see and do in Mazatlan but you probably don't need a rental car. The easiest way to get to the hotel from the Mazatlan airport is to purchase a private taxi ticket at the authorized taxi stand in the terminal after baggage claim and customs. Tell the attendant what hotel you want, buy your ticket and follow the directions to reach the dispatcher, who will guide you to your transportation. Shared minivan shuttle cost is about $10 per person one way. There are lots of hotels along the coast to Mazatlan, so taking the shared shuttle service may add up to an hour to your trip. Taxi cost starts at around $25. You'll pay a bit more to arrange your transportation in advance. This guarantees availability and saves you time. You can book private car service online or by phone when you book your hotel with your Blissport Concierge.

Rental Cars
If you want to rent a car, you can easily do so at the airport, but it is best to reserve from the US for better rates. Most major rental car agencies have presence at the airport. You can book your rental car in advance with Alamo online or by phone through your Blissport Concierge when you book your hotel. We have also had excellent luck renting from Avis in Mexico. Finally, in many cases you can rent a car locally through your hotel.
Renting a car in Mexico tips: 1 - When you reserve a car, be sure to ask about cancellation penalties, taxes and surcharges; 2 - Your own driver's license is acceptable; you do not need to get an international license; 3 - Take the extra insurance despite the extra cost and no matter what your insurance company or credit card company may say that they cover in Mexico. Regardless of any coverage that your credit card company may offer, make sure you have Mexican auto liability insurance through the rental car company. It is illegal to drive without it in Mexico.
