Destinations: Hawaii

With six islands, all with something different to offer, it’s easy to find a spot that will suit your specific needs. While every island has luxe resorts and golf courses, each has its own unique personality—one island does not fit all. Although, really, you can’t go wrong anywhere in Hawaii.

On Kauai, it’s all about the great outdoors, so you can explore Waimea Canyon with its breathtaking views or go kayaking down the Wailua River.

The island of Oahu has a little bit of everything. You can sit and watch the pro-surfers rip up the waves on the North Shore, you can hit one of the forty golf courses, or revisit American history at the Pearl Harbor memorials.

Those who want more of an authentic Aloha experience might prefer the island of Molokai, where you can really immerse yourselves in the local culture. The gorgeous seascapes and valleys have been virtually untouched by tourist traps, and with so many unique, out-of-the-way excursions, you get to experience a side of Hawaii that those visiting other islands may not.

If you like the idea of escaping to your own little private paradise, it doesn’t get any better than Lanai. There you can rent a rent a four-wheeler and go off-roading for the day, snorkel, or sunbathe on a secluded beach, without being hassled by other tourists. On Lanai, it’s all about being low-key…and alone with each other.

Of course, everyone knows Maui—it’s the obvious go-to in Hawaii, and for good reason. It’s known for having some of the best beaches in the world, making it THE perfect relaxation spot. You can spend all day lounging by the water with a drink, maybe taking a break to go snorkeling, whale watching, shopping, or to squeeze in a round of golf.

Finally, the Big Island is like an ecological wonderland. It has the world’s most active volcano, Kilaeua, as well as black sand beaches, rain forests, even snow-capped mountains. If you’re more into day trips than sitting by the pool going stir-crazy, you may prefer the Big Island.

Why You’ll Love It

With six islands to choose from and breathtaking scenary and natural wonders on every island, you can enjoy Hawaii on any budget. And, if you and she don't always enjoy the same activities, Hawaii makes compromise easy. While she's enjoying a half day at the spa, you can easily fit in 9 holes. Now that's Aloha spirit.

Why She’ll Love It

Whether she's the sporty type, or eh-hem, the pampered type, Hawaii has something for her. She can hit the golf course, the spa, the pool, the beach, the water, go for a walk or go for a hike. But mostly she doesn't have to worry that you'll be bored. There's plenty you can see and do together.
