History buffs might love the story of this spot. Built in 1529 with Spanish construction, it later became a sugar plantation, and one of the most important sugar mills in Mexico. During the Mexican Revolution, Emiliano Zapata made the Hacienda his headquarters. The surrounding areas also offer some rich history, from the mexican silver-mining center of Taxco to the guided tours of Cacahuamilpa grottos, Tepoztlan and Cuernavaca. For a more adventurous outing, you could raft down the Amacuzac river or rapell at the Cacahuamilpa grottos.
